The best lift is the one engineered for your exact vehicle and mobility device.

Before comparing brand names, match the lift to the year, make and model of the vehicle; the scooter, powerchair or wheelchair’s weight and dimensions; hitch rating; available tongue weight; ground clearance; rear-door access; garage clearance; and the user’s ability to connect, secure and operate the lift.
Vehicle lifts transport an unoccupied mobility device. They are different from an occupied wheelchair-accessible van ramp or a vertical platform lift that carries a person while seated in a wheelchair.
Five questions Electropedic recommends asking first
1. Do you want the mobility device outside the vehicle or protected inside?
2. What does the scooter/powerchair weigh with batteries installed?
3. Can the vehicle safely carry the combined lift-and-device load?
4. Do you need access to the hatch, tailgate or backup camera?
5. Is the user better served by drive-on, automatic locking, straps/retractors, or a hoist connection?

TriLift Mobility
TriLift takes a different approach: instead of placing the scooter or powerchair on a large platform, a triangular hitch-mounted lift mates with a bracket attached to the mobility device. The manufacturer emphasizes a slim profile, automatic locking, low overall lift weight and fast one-button operation.
T4011 UltraLite
160 lb capacity • 60 lb complete weight65" lift height • 12" back space • approx. 40-second cycle.
T4021 Classic
240 lb capacity • 75 lb complete weight65" lift height • 12" back space • approx. 40-second cycle.
T1030 Heavy Duty
350 lb capacity • 100 lb complete weight65" lift height • 13" back space • approx. 1:20 cycle.
T1040 Super Heavy Duty
450 lb capacity • 100 lb complete weight65" lift height • 13" back space • approx. 2:40 cycle.
Why consider it: especially compelling when rear clearance, lift weight, compact storage and eliminating a broad platform are priorities. The device-specific bracket is an important part of the system, so compatibility should be confirmed before purchase.
Harmar Vehicle Lifts
Harmar offers one of the broadest lineups in this comparison, spanning outside hitch-mounted platforms and carriers, inside hoists and hybrid lifts. That makes Harmar especially useful when the application calls for a specialized solution rather than one universal lift style.
AL100 / AL100HD
350 / 400 lb capacityFully powered lifting and folding. Automatic hold-down foot. AL100 weighs about 83 lb installed; HD about 84 lb.

AL055 / AL065 / AL215 Hoists

Why consider it: breadth. Harmar’s lineup includes solutions for manual wheelchairs, micro scooters, full-size scooters and powerchairs, with models for sedans, SUVs, vans, pickups and RV applications.
Harmar: platform vs. hoist vs. hybrid
Hitch platform: keeps interior cargo space open, but adds length and weight behind the vehicle.
Hoist: places the mobility device inside the vehicle for weather protection and may preserve the backup-camera view, but uses cargo room.
Hybrid: the mobility device rolls onto a platform and is then powered into the cargo area—combining aspects of platform and interior storage.
Bruno Scooter & Powerchair Lifts
Bruno’s vehicle-lift family covers exterior hitch platforms, interior platforms and hoist-style loading. Bruno states its scooter-lift line carries a 3-year limited warranty, and its principal vehicle models are designed around different priorities: preserving cargo space, protecting the mobility device inside, or adapting to a sedan.
Out-Sider ASL-275
350 lb capacityExterior hitch-mounted platform. Low-profile transport while preserving interior seating and cargo space; optional swing-away configuration.
Curb-Sider VSL-6900

Which one should you buy?
Choose TriLift when…
You want an exterior hitch lift with the smallest-looking footprint, no conventional platform, no conventional tie-down straps, relatively low lift weight and a dedicated interlocking connection to the scooter or powerchair.
Choose Harmar when…
You want the widest menu of configurations. Harmar is particularly strong when you need to compare manual carriers, powered hitch platforms, powerchair platforms, interior hoists or hybrid cargo-area systems.
Choose Bruno when…
You prefer a premium platform or hoist solution with clearly differentiated models: Out-Sider for exterior transport, Joey for interior platform loading, Curb-Sider for hoist loading, or Chariot for its wheeled carrier concept.
Compatibility is more important than the brand name.
Use the ready-to-travel weight, including batteries, seat and accessories.
Confirm hitch class, tongue-weight limits, suspension, ground clearance and electrical requirements.
Wheelbase, overall length/width, ground contact points and securement location can affect compatibility.
Exterior lifts add rear length; interior hoists use cargo space. Know your parking and hatch-access needs.
The easiest lift is the one the actual user can connect, load, secure and unload confidently.
If you may change mobility devices, ask how easily the lift can be adapted or transferred.
